Garden was commissioned by Emperor Jahangir for his beloved wife, Empress Noor Jahan, in the year 1619. Shalimar Bagh is spread across an area of approximately 31 acres and is divided into three terraces, each with its unique charm and features.
First terrace, known as the Diwan-e-Aam, was originally meant for the emperor to hold public meetings and address his subjects.
