Grammy Winners 2025: Kendrick Lamar Leads With Five Wins for ‘Not Like Us,’ Beyoncé and Charli XCX Take Home Three Each
Who would’ve thought rap beef could’ve been such a catalyst for community?
From diss track to record and song of the year, Kendrick Lamar went home the biggest winner at the 2025 Grammy Awards with “Not Like Us” – which took aim at Drake – earning a total of five wins: song of the year, record of the year, best rap song, best rap performance, and best music video. In the record of the year category, Lamar beat out the Beatles for “Now And Then,” Beyoncé for “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Charli XCX for “360,” Billie Eilish for “Birds of a Feather,” Sabrina Carpenter for “Espresso,” Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone for “Fortnight,” and Chappell Roan for “Good Luck, Babe!”
“We gonna dedicate this one to the city,” Lamar said in his first acceptance speech for record of the year. “This is my neck of the woods, have held me down since a young pup. Since I was in the studio, scrapping to write the best raps and all that.”

The 2025 Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The event was broadcast live on CBS and available for streaming on Paramount+. Music lovers worldwide tuned in to witness history unfold.
Who Hosted the Grammys 2025?
The Grammy Awards 2025 were hosted by Trevor Noah, marking his fourth consecutive year as the ceremony’s host. His witty humor and charismatic stage presence made for a delightful evening.
The ceremony was marked by dynamic performances from artists such as Billie Eilish, Shakira, and Charli XCX, showcasing the rich diversity of contemporary music.
This year’s Grammys not only honoured musical excellence but also celebrated the diversity and innovation that defines the current musical landscape.
Album of the Year: Coveted Honor
The Grammy Award for Album of the Year is arguably the most prestigious recognition at the Grammys. This award celebrates the artistic and technical achievements of an entire album, highlighting the hard work and creativity behind the music. Among the notable past winners are heavyweights like Adele, whose albums “21” and “25” garnered immense acclaim, and Taylor Swift, recognized for her transformative projects, including “Folklore” and “1989.”
Most recently, Billie Eilish became the youngest artist to win the award for her album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” demonstrating her significant influence on the music scene.
Best New Artist: The Rise of Fresh Talent
Another highly anticipated category is the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, which shines a spotlight on emerging artists who have made significant waves in the music industry over the past year. The award can prove pivotal in launching successful careers.
In 2021, Megan Thee Stallion took home the award, recognized for her dynamic presence and empowering music. Dua Lipa, who won in 2019, has since established herself as a leading figure in pop music, further emphasizing the award’s relevance in identifying future stars.
