Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in India, located in the holy city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
It was founded in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, a visionary leader and educationist, with the support of eminent personalities like Dr. Annie Besant, Maharaja of Darbhanga, Maharaja of Banaras, and others.
The university was established with the aim of promoting the values of Indian culture and civilization, as well as advancing the fields of science, technology, medicine, and humanities. BHU is a central university that is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC.
